Steve Burnett is a Musician and Creative based in Surrey, United Kingdom.

Steve trained as a classical musician from the age of 5, before gaining an on-the-spot scholarship to study at The Royal College of Music where he completed a BMus and PgDip in bassoon playing.

His experience has seen him perform at all of the UK’s major concert halls including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Opera House and the Barbican - he has even performed for Royals at Buckingham Palace.  He has toured much of the UK and Europe, sharing the stage with artists as diverse as Bernard Haitink and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, appearing on BBC radio 3, Channel 4 and Sky Arts television, and recording for BAFTA award-winning drama.  His commitment to excellence in education has seen him gain arts council funding for jazz education in Enfield, and he has maintained a long running association with the London Symphony Orchestra’s discovery programme as a performer and educator.

Steve’s work in popular music has seen him create and develop his own array of acts, ranging in style from Hip Hop to Funk, and Ska to Big Band, all of which draw from his hand-picked pool of top musicians on the UK scene. Please see the home page to find out more. He also works with a host of other function bands and original artists as an in-demand keys player, saxophonist and synth bassist.

Over the last 12 years Steve has worked with Rocket Leisure, to build an incredible contribution to London’s live music scene via the various Records Bars and Louche Soho. During a period when many music venues have been closing down, his gig curation has grown in excess of 2600 bookings per year across 8 stages. Steve has built an enviable roster of acts covering everything from solo performers to large bands, DJs and sound engineers. Some of the highlights from this time include work with DJs such as Yoda, Gilles Peterson, Krafty Kuts, A Skillz, The Nextmen, Freestylers, Scratch Perverts, Mr Thing, and Charlie Tee.

Steve has his own small studio, catering to a wide variety of uses - from drum recording and vocal tracking, to mixing and creative work. He also maintains his own solo project, writing and recording under a pseudonym: the resulting works are cinematic, complex soundscapes and he loves taking on scoring work.
